Pati Dure’s Ridefy is opening it’s Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) to external service providers. Based on the published API, 24Rent Rental services has started offering Ridefy’s “Share Your Ride” button for their customer in order to allow customers to share costs of the rented car.

The aim with opening the API’s is part of Ridefy’s strategy to be part of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) offering as it’s expected to  grow heavily in near future. In order to build successful MaaS experience for wide-audience, Ridefy sees that the key is co-operation between multiple actors in the scene and the main role in that will be the ease of use due API-to-API communications which can offer solid user experience for service users without need to navigate between the service providers.

More information about the co-operation can be read from 24 Rental Networks press release at http://www.24rent.fi/tiedote-25-2-2015-24rent-avaa-rajapinnat-liikkumispalveluille-ja-yhdistaa-yhteiskayttoautot-kimppakyytipalveluun-ensimmaisena-maailmassa (In Finnish only)

More information about Ridefy can be read from www.ridefy.com, currently only in Finnish. Other countries will be available soon !

If You are interested to start using the Ridefy API, please feel free to contact us ! Just drop an email to henkka@ridefy.com and let’s see what can we do together !

Android, iOS, Windows Phone – we do them all !

We have proven knowledge of working with all modern mobile platforms, including native versions of Android, iOS and Windows Phone plus with generic frameworks like PhoneGap and Steroids.

When we start project with You, You don’t need to worry about technical platforms. Based on our deep understanding of technical facts and requirements from You, we always select the development model which is most suitable for Your project. Besides the development itself, we can help You to plan and define the scope for the project  and write requirement from technical and functional point of view in order for You to ask quotations from other vendors as well. Later it’s up to You to decide who does the actual development. In order to understand our way of work, please check it from here.

During the functional and business analysis, we define which type of application is needed. Some of the applications runs nicely standalone, but some of them are requiring back-end server for storing data, authenticating users of doing magical analysis for the data application is processing etc… For that purpose, we already have developed flexible back-end server which has built in the generic most commonly used features Your app may need. The flexibility in this scope means that if the functionality doesn’t already exists in there, it’s easy to extend to meet Your application requirements. Check more about the Mobile Application Back-end from here.

Besides the back-end, we also have the code needed in application in order to work against it – that leads less work for individual projects like Your !

There’s a lot of common functionality used in mobile applications, we have developed our own back-end server to ease the application development and improve time-to-market.

The Mobile Application Back-end Server (MABS) is written by using PHP programming language. The main designed principle was to have it scalable and easily extendable. The extend-ability comes as a side effect on applications designed well and using object oriented programming pattern and having design that allows “plugins” to be attached in to it.

We are running common MABS instances for all our services in cloud. The MABS can be deployed in any commercial cloud environment and is currently deployed in Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Digital Ocean.

When we develop and application and in case it requires back-end server, it will be always done by using MABS. Besides our own usage, we are licensing it for third-parties as well. Third-parties can either buy at as managed service from us or get license to install it on their local servers. The licensing contract requires support contract which in general means that You will receive the latest updates and fixes for it easily from our private Git repository.

As a part of the licensing contract, we provide a complete API guide for the REST API in order to use pre-developed features and class reference for You to extend the features based on Your requirements. The support contract includes 8/5 support for developers and bug-fixes.

The key features in the MABS are:

  • Authentication and Authorization
  • Facebook connector
  • Subscription management
  • Push notifications for Android, iOS and Windows Phone
  • Email sending through Sendgrid
  • SMS sending through Pati Dure SMS Services (additional fees applies)
  • Database connectivity layer
  • WEB-GUI for subscriber management and reporting
  • Simple architecture to provide object CRUD, Search and Listing functionality to any type of content
    • WEB Stores
    • Ordering services

As an additional module for MABS, we have developed an advertisement platform which allows You to trigger advertisements for users based on location, profile and time.
